Marwood Hill Gardens

Tucked below the North Devon village of Guineaford, this hidden valley garden was once home to celebrate plantsman Dr Jimmy Smart MBE, VMH. The garden was transformed over 70 years from rough pastureland into the picturesque and magical garden seen today. As well as showcasing a range of rare trees and shrubs, three stunning lakes full of wildlife are waiting to be discovered by visitors. Woodland walks around Marwood Hill Gardens are awash with astounding autumn colour during winter and extensive bulb displays the rest of the year. The view across the valley from the Garden Tea Room is spectacular, accompanied by delicious food and a garden centre teeming with unusual plants for sale.
