Tree Mallow Overview

Also known as tree mallow, this species is a semi-evergreen subshrub that produces downy, grey foliage, leaves are palm-shaped and flowers measure around 7cm across. These are coloured pink or lilac with attractive purple venation spreading from the inner petal bases. Previously known as Lavatera maritima, this plant's name change was announced by NATAG (RHS Nomenclature and Taxonomy Advisory Group) in the June 2021 edition of The Plant Review.
