tickberry Overview

Lantana camara is a rugged evergreen shrub from the tropics, it is treated as an annual in the UK. It produces rough-textured, hairy, toothed green leaves which are toxic to livestock and possess an unpleasant aroma when crushed. Flowers are small and maybe red, yellow, white, pink or orange, dependent on the environment grown in, they are often a mixture of these colours and the blooms change colour with age, providing lasting colour. In warm, frost-free conditions, black fruits can develop and this plant will typically flower year-round.
