Cranesbill 'Orion' Overview
Geranium 'Orion' is a spreading perennial with deeply lobed, mid-green basal leaves in 7 divisions. It produces masses of large, cup-shaped, lavender-blue flowers that have purple veins, and a white centre. Its 5, almost round, overlapping petals are borne over a long period during summer. Ideal for groundcover, this Geranium (or Cranesbill) cultivar is hardy, low-maintenance and likes a position of full sun or part shade, and moderately fertile, well-drained soil. Geranium 'Orion' has earned an RHS 'Award of Garden Merit' and is part of the Royal Horticultural Society “Plants for Pollinators” initiative to showcase plants which support pollinator populations by providing ample amounts of nectar and/or pollen. A great choice for encouraging pollinating insect wildlife into your garden!
