Pomelo Overview
Citrus maxima is a fruiting tree species in the Rutaceae family, commonly known as Pomelo, after the fruits it produces. This plant is part of the parentage for the Bitter Orange, Citrus × aurantium and the Grapefruit, Cirtus paradise. Citrus maxima originates from Eastern Asia, from Assam to Western & Central Malesia. It was previously known by various names including Citrus costata and Citrus × aurantium f. grandis. Pomelo produces scented, white flowers are fragrant and large, rounded fruit with pale yellow, rough peel.
