Sutherland Begonia Overview

Begonia sutherlandii - or Sutherland Begonia - is an easy to grow trailing plant. It is great for adding to borders, hanging baskets and patio pots, but it can only be grown under glass or outside in summer, in temperate climates. It originates from South East Africa. A small tuberous perennial, Begonia sutherlandii has light green, glossy leaves, trailing red stems and it produces masses of orange flowers in summer and early autumn. (It is usually dormant in winter.) Protect from direct sunlight and never allow it to become water-logged.
