Gossip Spurflower Overview
Plectranthus verticillatus is part of the mint family, Laminaceae, and has fragrant foliage when crushed. The stems are square in shape and the leaves have irregular edges. This is a soft, semi-succulent, aromatic, perennial that grows to between 10-30.5cm in height, with a spread of about 60cm. The heart-shaped leaves are succulent and it produces tubular flowers that appear in summer. It can be an annual or evergreen perennial, depending on where it is grown. Often kept indoors as a houseplant, where it will remain green year-round. In mild climates free from frost it may be grown outdoors as a perennial, or in colder climates it can be grown as an annual. ZA Distribution: Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Western Cape.

How to propagate Gossip Spurflower
Cuttings
Make 7-15cm cuttings, remove the leaves from the bottom half of the cutting and keep moist in good potting soil.
Division
Divide the plants with roots attached and replant immediately.

The shoots make roots where it touches the soil - remove and replant in new location.
