Chocolate Vine Overview

Akebia is a small genus with 5 deciduous or semi-evergreen, woody, climbing plants bearing sweet, edible, purple fruit with white flesh. They are normally grown for their fruit and foliage, but some species are considered invasive, particularly in the USA. Commonly known as Chocolate Vine. Flowers are formed in clusters and may have a scent, usually they are some form of pink-red in colour.
