Wormwood 'Powis Castle' Overview
Artemesia 'Powis Castle' is a dwarf, evergreen shrub with grey aromatic foliage that contrasts with its pale yellow flowers that appear in late summer. It is low-growing, with a rounded form and woody base, and its leaves are silver-green and finely divided. Also known as Wormwood 'Powis Castle' or 'Brass Band', it is suitable for flower beds and borders, informal/cottage garden style planting, and for gravel gardens. Its foliage can be used in dried flower arrangements and in the garden, it contrasts well with ornamental grasses and plants that have pink/purple flowers. It needs a position in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil. While it is easy to grow and maintain, it does need regular pruning to keep a good shape. Artemesia 'Powis Castle' has earned an 'RHS Award of Garden Merit'.
