Chocolate Vine Overview

Akebia trifoliata is a deciduous, strong-growing, climber in the Lardizabalaceae family. It produces varieable-shaped leaves in spring coloured a beautiful bronze shade. Foliage slowly turns dark green and cascades of deep red-purple, cup-shaped flowers appear in spring. Leading on to purple sausage-shaped fruits.
