Golden Variegated Sweet Flag Overview

Acorus gramineus 'Ogon' is a compact, clump-forming, grass-like perennial with sword-shaped yellow and green striped leaves. It is ideal for planting in boggy areas or at pond edges where it has plenty of water to thrive. Commonly known by the names Slender Sweet Flag 'Ogon' and Golden Variegated Sweet Flag. Although hardy, it needs a sheltered position in full sun. It benefits from a tidy up and removal of dead foliage in spring. Particularly suitable for cottage-style - and other informal beds and borders - Acorus gramineus 'Ogon' can be a lovely and bright addition to most contemporary gardens. It is a good plant for coastal areas and can be grown in a pot - but it must be kept very well watered at all times.
