Floss Flower Overview
Ageratum houstonianum is a mound-forming, compact, bushy annual plant from the Asteraceae family. It produces downy, oval leaves and fluffy pale lilac-purple flowers. These appear from midsummer until the first frosts. Mulitple cultivars have been developed from this species, with a range of flower colours including blue, pink, purple, red and white. Attractive to bees and butterflies.
How to propagate Floss Flower
From seed sown in early spring at 16-18°C. Can also be sown in autumn and overwintered at 10°C.
