Bellflower Overview
This is a large genus which will include about 250 species of showy herbaceous plants. They are mostly perennials but a few are annual or biennial. The leaves will vary in shape and size, sometimes arising mainly from upright stems or sometimes only in basal clusters. The spring and summer flowers are mostly bell-shaped but in some species they are more tubular, urn-shaped or star-shaped, and will come mainly in shades of blue and purple with some that are pinks or white.
