Lapeirousia Overview

Lapeirousia is a genus in the iris family, Iridaceae containing around 41 species. This genus is endemic to sub-Saharan Africa, with roughly a third of the species found in fynbos environments. It contains cormous, deciduous species which produce showy, colourful flowers in various shades of pink, purple, red and white. Foliage is flattened, narrow and often pleated.
