Weinmannia Overview
There are about 150 species of evergreen trees and shrubs, producing opposite, simple leaves. The flowers are small, white or yellow blooms in upright showy racemes, which are followed by a shiny, reddy brown 2-celled capsule. They are frost tender, min 5-7C, and will need partial shade or full light with humus-rich, well drained but not dry soil, neutral to acidic soil. You should water the potted plants freely when in full growth, and moderately at other times. Propagation is by seeds in the spring or by semi-ripe cuttings in the summer.
