Quince Overview
Small genus of 1 hardy deciduous tree bearing a pome fruit, similar to a pear and coloured golden-yellow upon maturity. Its also known as a quince and has been cultivated for its fruits, which as used in cooking and also its pretty pink flowers and ornamental stature. Growing on average 5-8m high and 4-6m wide, this genus is native to rocky slopes and woodland edges and may be grown in a range of climates, including Northern latitudes such as Scotland.
