Arisarum Overview
Genus of 4 rhizomatous perennials which superficially resemble the genus Arum, however they differ morphologically in their flowers, spathes and inflorescences. Their inflorescence is generally quite short and consists of a hooded spathe with a colour gradient from purple to white, often striped with green flecks. They originate from the Mediterranean and have attractive leaves which are generally heart-shaped, with variations between species and often variegation.
