Artabotrys Overview

Genus containing around 102 small tree or shrub species with a climbing growth habit. Foliage is simple and linear in shape, produced in an alternative arrangement and flowers are 6-petalled, yellow, scented and arranged in clusters, later developing into fleshy fruits. These flowers are either borne solitarily or in small, condensed cyme arrangements. Cymes consist of a central stem that produces a flower at its growing tip first, followed by flowers from the ends of subsequently produced lateral shoots.
