Ptychosperma Overview

Ptychosperma is a genus originating from Australia, the Solomon Islands and New Guinea, it contains around 29 palm species with single or clustered stems. They possess leathery, shiny and pinnately divided foliage with linear leaflets. Flowers are small, 3-petalled, green-white or green-yellow and arranged in hanging panicles below the foliage. These lead on to ovoid fruits coloured purple-black, red or orange.
