Floss Flower Overview
This genus contains 40-60 species of annual or perennial tropical and warm temperate species. Growing on average 15-30cm tall, they spread and form mounds of oppositely arranged oval to lance-shaped leaves. The flowers are small, rounded, fluffy and range in colour from bright shades of purple to more pastel purples, pinks and white. Ageratums make good annual bedding plants and they are also favoured as edging for borders and a big hit with butterflies!
