    Bulbophyllum Overview

Bulbophyllum is a huge genus containing approximately 1,884 epiphytic orchid species with creeping rhizomes, 3-5 angled pseudobulbs and fleshy, leathery foliage. Epiphytic species grow without the need for soil substrate and this genus also contains lithophytes; these plants grow without soil on or in rocks. This is the largest genus in the orchid family, Orchidaceae and features a wide range of diverse flower shapes and colours.
