Sunflower Overview

They will produce tall showy-flowering annuals and perennials which are grown for their large daisy-like, usually golden-yellow blooms, which are on prolonged display from mid summer to mid autumn. They have hairy often sticky leaves and tall, rough stems. May be invasive. Fully hardy. Prefers sun and well drained soil. May need staking. Propagate by seed or division in autumn or spring.
