Purple Roscoea Overview
Roscoea purpurea is a deciduous perennial plant from the Zingiberaceae family. Commonly known by the names Purple Roscoea and Roscoe's Lily. It has an upright habit, forming clumps of foliage up to 30cm in height. Flowers are orchid-like, coloured purple and they measure around 5cm in length. This species will grow to about 38cm with a spread of 20cm; the leaves are long and pointed. The flowers will bloom in the summer either purple or sometimes white or bicoloured.
