Chinese Money Plant Overview
Pilea peperomioides is a succulent, evergreen perennial in the Urticaceae family. Commonly known by the names Chinese Money Plant, Money Plant, Pancake Plant and Ufo Plant, amongst others. This easy to propagate plant makes a fantastic houseplant, growing to a height of around 30cm. It produces fleshy, circular, long-stalked, mid-green leaves up to 10cm in length. Flowers are tiny, pale green, sometimes tinged pink. This plant was originally found in China by Agnar Espegren, a Norwegian missionary in 1946, hence the common name Missionary Plant.
