Ramonda Overview
Ramonda is a small genus containing just 3 species of evergreen perennial flowering plants in the family Gesneriaceae. These species are native to parts of Southern Europe, where they inhabit mountainous, shady, rocky areas. They form basal rosettes of crinkled leaves and saucer-shaped flowers in late Spring. They thrive in a shady area of the garden and they prefer to grow on their side as they would in their native mountainous habitat to prevent water accumulating in the rosette of leaves.
