Went for Afternoon Tea for my birthday with my grandparents. I am Gluten and Dairy free very accommodating. First time I have had scones in since becoming gluten and dairy free and they were lovely . High quality food and they even gave us free champagne. Brilliant service. Kind and attentive staff. Food was outstanding. Plus added bonus of absolutely gorgeous view . They went above and beyond to make it a lovely experience.

Not a bad place. Beautiful grounds. Staff very friendly. The rooms are okay, very standard, not 4* at all. The bathroom toilet was stained with black, the flush makes a very loud noise. There are no plugs near the bed so it makes it hard to charge phones etc. No air conditioning in the rooms so only use of fans which are provided. The beds are comfy and with nice soft pillows too. The spa was nice. Nothing much around so it’s just a place to come to if you don’t want to travel much. On a Saturday night they had a bbq, which was the first time they had done this. It was a beautiful evening so the ambience was good. However we felt the food was not great, the meat needed to be cooked a little more and there needed to be more variety of sides.

We stayed here for a long weekend to take in the Badminton horse trials. Absolutely cracking place. The room was perfect. We had our little dog with us and the room couldn't have been better. With patio doors leading to a small paved area with chairs and a table and a small green with mature trees for our dog to run around. We ate each evening and breakfast in the atrium and thought the food and service was excellent. Most afternoons we sat on the terrace by the outside bar. The grounds are absolutely stunning.

Disaster from start to finish.... Review of De Vere Tortworth Court Pending review Most of our issues with Totworth is communication or lack there of. On arrival the staff were lovely, very helpful and gave lots of information but that's where the issues began. We booked a 2 night spa break via the website, I had a single email confirming the booking. At arrival we were told the spa was full and that we should visit the spa team immediately to try and book the included treatments. We went straight to the spa to be told they were full but a manager would call us with in the next couple of hours to arrange a refund or an alternative, 4 hours until the spa closed at this point but alas there was no call on the Friday. Sat morning we popped to the spa on the way down for breakfast, again promised a call and was also advised to pop to reception as they might be able to help. Went to reception told there was nothing they could do but again was promised a call back. We went out for the morning but again had no contact from anyone, popped back to the spa at mid day for a swim and finally managed to flag down a manager who after repeating they had no space 50times finally arranged a refund. We were less than amused. Friday evening we ate in the 1853 restaurant, the service was glacial to the point I watched 4 tables give up and walkout. 2.5 hours for a starter and main, we gave up on pudding as it was too slow and too late. There was a queue of people complaining when we left. Unfortunately our afternoon tea on Sat wasn't a lot better, the waitress was in a foul mood and basically barked at us. Once we finally were served on both occasions the food was lovely. Sat evening we ate in the Atrium, this was much less formal. Staff were very attentive and service was quick. There was a slight mix up with our drinks but it was quickly resolved. Our room was lovely (Room 80), very clean and tidy but both morning we were woken at 5:30 by something clicking in the room (this went on for 10 or so min), sounded like a central heating system kicking in or something to that effect. All in all communication and speed of service were poor. When your paying nearly 2K for two nights stay we would have expected better. I don't think we will return on the basis we have had much better service for less than half the cost. It ruined out anniversary.

Very pretty ambience! Stay in a castle, wow! The staff is very friendly. The room is spacious but needs renovation. Better not look in the toilet. Unfortunately the dog is not allowed in the restaurant. We were sent to the bistro. The only option far and wide for dinner. The best choices seemed to be burgers or pizza. It was terribly noisy, bar staff making noise all the time at work. It echoed throughout the room. The neighbors at the table didn't try to avoid noise either. That wasn't dinner, it was more like feeding pigs. Oh noise, there is a wedding party partying right next to our room. This will be a quiet night ;-) Maybe a drink at the bar before bed? Unfortunately no, the bar is completely overcrowded, the free tables have not been cleared. At least the hotel has a pool. Unfortunately, it is so crowded here that you have to reserve a slot for the pool in advance. We are looking forward to two great nights in the castle together with hundreds of other people. I'm looking forward to breakfast tomorrow. I'm curious where we can eat with the dog. Maybe on the toilet???
