Bantry House is a stately home overlooking Bantry Bay in the south west of Ireland. The gardens were created by Richard White, the 2nd Earl of Bantry, but after a period of neglect they needed to be restored and this work began in 1997. The garden has seven terraces and features including a fountain.

Visitors can sit inside a small rocky cavern known as the Moon House and watch water cascade from above or enjoy the soothing ambience of still ponds and meandering streams.

The gardens surrounding this late 18th century house (c.1790) were laid out towards the end of the 19th century with plantings of many fine specimens including rhododendron arboreum, magnolia soulangeana ‘Alba’, and camellia japonica. Also included are a number of specimen mature trees, including a fine Chilean myrtle, luma apiculata, planted c. 1880.
