Frogmore House and Garden

Frogmore's garden and lake are largely the creation of Queen Charlotte, the house's first royal resident. The Queen had a passionate interest in botany and introduced over 4,000 trees and shrubs to create a picturesque landscape. In the last century, the garden was restored by Queen Mary and enhanced for Her Majesty The Queen's Silver Jubilee. The Royal Mausoleum is not open to visitors as part of any tour.

Sitting elegantly in 162 hectares (400 acres) of historic parkland and gardens, this 18th-century house was purchased by Lord and Lady Iliffe in the 1950s, when it was de-requisitioned after the Second World War.

The origins of the gardens as they appear today were created in the late 1860’s with the building of the stone balustrades and staircases by Italian craftsmen. The gardens are enclosed by our magnificent deer park and provide stunning views over our lake and surrounding countryside beyond.
