Been visiting here since 2004, and seen the place evolve. Lovely place for a family day out . If you live near, it is better to take out annual membership. Lovely bird garden, still ongoing renovations, they have penguins and some small monkeys. Adventure playground. Definitely worth a visit in good weather . Can get very busy, in cold weather wrap up well since it can get breezy. Staff always very helpful.

UPDATE: At £9 per person it's now getting very expensive, plus Leeds council pushing you to book a place even though you are a fully paid up member has pushed me to drop my score. A great day out for all the family plenty for the kids, lawn games, play park and bird garden. Extensive gardens with deer and a lovely perimeter walk for dog lovers.

I have absolutely no idea how they are getting away with charging people so much to walk on some grounds. It’s nearly the same price as going to the zoo and more expensive than going to the cinema!! Not only do taxpayers pay for the upkeep of such places but the National Trust helps so charging people this amount of money is ridiculous.

Fantastic place to visit. Parking was a bit of a nightmare but once you get over that hurdle it's a really lovely few hours out. Not expensive and lots of different things to do. Cafe is really good and vegan friendly if required.

Lovely afternoon out in the sunshine. Great place to walk around, the house and its history were really interesting too. Favourite bit was the wildlife park, such a range of animals! If you don't have a car, we got a train from Leeds to Garforth then split a taxi (£4 each). There is also a bus that goes nearby too.
