About the garden

Located on the north coast of Jersey, when this farm was restored in 1972 it became the island’s first commercial vineyard. Since then, the estate has gone from strength to strength, crafting everything from butter to hand sanitiser and vodka, winning several awards for the quality of its produce. Vineyards are not the only attraction here, as there are also cider orchards and lovely gardens adjacent to the house, which are accessible to visitors on the wine tasting tour.

The estate shop is not to be missed, with a wealth of products from not only La Mare, but across the island, and you can even test the produce at the on-site Café. Children will be happy to find that there’s an adventure playground and a treasure hunt with clues throughout the vineyard.

A tremendous visit to the wine estate. We did the tour and our guide was a new lady called Julie. She did a great job and we got to taste several products. We also had a lovely lunch. We would go back just for lunch as food was yummy and the location is great. I recommend if you want to take alcohol home buy it at the airport as its cheaper

My other half and I did their tour / tasting experience. The tour part was short and sweet, but the guide definitely knew her stuff. Without a doubt, it's good value for money as we tried many different wines and spirits. I would recommend this.

Let's be honest, the seafood platter is garbage. Fish sticks, freezer shrimp, smoked salmon, and two actually nice prawns. I'd personally expect much better for £18, and on the island of Jersey which is known for seafood. Otherwise, nice place, nice people.

We did the tour with Graham and it was excellent. He was full of knowledge and had some great stories. The tour went very quickly with lots of tasting. Well worth the visit.
