About the garden

Hodnet Hall gardens are now a century old, having been created in 1922, when a chain of lakes and ponds were dug out of the hillside and the ground around them was planted out with rare specimen trees and shrubs. April is the best time to visit the garden, with Camellias, Daffodils and Crocuses in bloom and the beautiful Magnolia Walk in flower. Later in the season, visitors can experience the Lilacs, Rhododendrons and Azaleas alongside the noteworthy swathes of blue in the Bluebell woods. Summer is just brimming with life at Hodnet Hall - don't miss the Peonies, Roses and Hydrangeas, which are in bloom right up until the end of September.

Visitors to the garden will also enjoy the productive Walled Garden, which provides fruit, vegetables and cut flowers throughout the seasons for Hodnet Hall.

Opening times

Every Wednesday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday from Sunday 14th March until Sunday 26th September

This place is an absolute gem, every which way you turn is just magical. It's beautifully kept, tidy and yet has gorgeous wild meadow areas too. I can't wait to go again with my family.

Lovely gardens and tea room. Gardeners happy to talk and share their knowledge. Even chatted to the very friendly owner while he was walking his dogs. Make sure you take in the walled kitchen garden as it's not too well signposted.

Lovely well maintained garden. Very peaceful and not at all busy. Only open Wed & Sun at the moment.

Spectacular gardens! What more can I say, except fantastic place to visit for peace, tranquility and time with your loved ones. Far better value, and more beautiful, than Attingham Park!

Hodnet Hall is a wonderful garden with tranquil walks set around the lakes. It relatively flat so ideal for people with walking difficulties. The restaurant food is of good quality and reasonably priced or you could take a picnic I would certainly recommend going
