About the garden

If you like your green space to come with a well-stocked cafe, kid’s adventure playground and bundles of community spirit then Ford Park is the place for you.

Located in the urban heart of Ulverston, this eight-acre park is popular among locals and visitors alike. Ford Park’s well-trodden paths snake past open fields, a pretty wildflower meadow and woodland copse before depositing walkers at a foliage-packed plant nursery, where the urge to buy everything is strong.

At the centre of the park is Ford House, an atmospheric Grade II listed building. This and the grounds are run by Ford Park Community Group, whose sharing is caring mantra extends to the garden, where field to fork learning and eating is encouraged. This sustainable approach to food production is continued in The Coach House, which serves freshly prepared dishes using ingredients picked just meters away in the Victorian walled kitchen garden.

A really great place. A very easy car park in the park, and loads of on the road parking nearby. A wonderfully eventful place with a play ground, zip wire, free to use piano, cafe and gardens and loads of events. Had the best time performing here and its super close to both the centre of Ulverston and the top of Hoad Hill for some stunning views of the South Lakes and the coastline. Loved my time here.

Woz gud. Kidz play area. Kitchin garten. Cafe. Doggy walking area. Inside car park with ample space. Entry to climb to the monument (aka 'the hord' with fanatastic views 360 degrees all round). Nice picnic space to eat your dinner with kids and pets.

Liked it. We parked up and walked the dog up to the top of the hill but be warned the tower has herras fencing round it now.
