About the garden

Fast Rabbit Garden occupies 43 acres of the secluded Strawberry Valley. Nurtured since 1991, it is probably the largest garden featuring acid-loving plants in the county. Here we try to bring you a flavour of the garden in each season and an impression of the range of habitats which are home to a vast family of plants, birds and other creatures. You will certainly be stunned by the vivid blooms and also soothed by the ever-present sound of water as it splashes, trickles and cascades through the valley.

Fast Rabbit Farm Gardens covers 43 acres and a plant centre selling a wide range of plants mostly grown in the garden and at very modest prices. The Gardens include two valleys at right angles, one contains the River Black and the other a sizable stream. A lake and several ponds have been created. The valley sides are contoured with wide grassed walls.

Separate areas include a Rose Garden, a Mediterranean Garden, Bog Garden, Wildflower Garden, Riverside and Lakeland walks. Planting is extensive with rhododendron camellia, magnolia, Pieris and a large range of shrubs and trees. Wildflowers are abundant with snowdrops, primrose, bluebells and daffodils.

Spring starts early with snowdrops from January. The Gardens are rated the second most important attraction in Dartmouth by Trip Advisor.
