Myself and my family just adore Derreen Garden and Cafe. My parents live close by and we visit a couple of times a month. The grounds are stunning, so many beautifully maintained tracks that weave around, taking you to the waterfront and deep into the forest. There are so many different type of trees and interesting vegetation including the otherworldly tree ferns. There are lots of fairies in the woods too, and you can spot their houses all around! The cafe is wonderful, great coffee and generous home baked cakes and savoury foods. The service is so friendly and swift and it's reasonably priced too. And you can buy plants! This is a gorgeous hidden gem for coffee and nature immersion.

Derreen is one of the most special places I have ever visited. The photos just don’t do it justice. Majestic trees and primordial feeling ferns combined with restrained signage evoke a Garden of Eden feel. The cafe is a delight.

Lovely gardens with so many individual plants and tree's. Lots of work going on to improve the accessibility too which is great. Well worth a visit 👍

A really lovely, relaxing place to visit. Beautiful walks, stunning coastal scenery and a gorgeous cafe with home made cakes and sandwiches that can be eaten in a covered outdoor setting. Thanks Katherine and Jamie; we'll definitely be back.

Nice wooded walk with unusual trees however €16 (2 adults) was a total rip off for a walk in a woodland! There was also a board walk out to a tiny island which was unfortunately closed off but it would have been nice to experience it.
