About the garden

At the foot of the Waaihoek Mountain, situated in the beautiful Breede Valley, lies the perfect hideaway, Bosjes.

Rich in history and natural splendour, with steep mountain ranges on both sides, and the Breede River that winds through the valley, it is an off the beaten track place of rest and quiet. Visitors to Bosjes will find the journey worthwhile if only to see the Chapel, an architectural masterpiece, and to enjoy the landscaped Chapel gardens.

What a hidden gem. Such thought into the design and execution. Just oozes class everywhere. Had lunch at Spens and decided you can't go wrong with a chicken burger. By far the best I have ever eaten. Food was superb. Service was excellent. Cammy was the waitress and proved to be a proud addition to their staff. The setting is also very unique. Another fantastic place for locals to enjoy and boast about to international visitors.

We enjoyed a very nice lunch here with good wine. The restaurant has a modern look with a great view of the mountains and surrounds.

Our family was on a road trip with our small dog and wanted to stop at Bosjes for a coffee and some treats. At the gate they said no dogs, which is understandable. Then we asked if can we drive in and leave the dog in the car with our nanny while we get the coffee and snacks - which request was denied. This is utterly unreasonable and absurd as the dog would have been under care and not an inconvenience to anyone as he would have been confined to the car. Very disappointed.

What an incredible place to explore. We stopped to visit the chapel, and discovered so much more.
