Came for a picnic and loved the beautiful location, attentive staff and the variety of things around. The picnic itself was rich and fresh - we were surprised by how good the bread was even. Although we asked for a pork free basket, we still got it and nobody mentioned it to us or offered to remove or replace. The location was nice and quiet, also supplying blanket and chairs, while enjoying some live music. The shops around are very very nice, so make sure to spend some time there too. Would definitely come back!

My husband and I stayed there for a couple of nights and it was so beautiful. The grounds are very well kept and truly immaculate. We were also there for the night market, which had lots of great food stalls and a nice band. The only thing I’d have to say that I was disappointed in, was the wine tasting. As I was expecting a bit more, but perhaps it’s because we are coming from Italy and the experience doesn’t even come close. I would work on improving this. And, last but not least, we were celebrating our honeymoon and everywhere we went it was our anniversary instead. Although we had a laugh about it, wish they had gotten it right since we did provide this information way beforehand. Overall, would come again. But the devil is in the details and I think that’s what prevents this place from being a 5 star worthy experience.

We chose Boschendal for our first family gathering in many years. From arrival to being last to leave the area, we were made to feel special. The food was first class especially the vegan basket (including dessert) - truly a gastronomical delight. The live band added just the right amount of mood to an already relaxing atmosphere. Kids had freedom to run around between the two play areas in safety. Highly recommend a picnic at Boschendal to relax and unwind.

Amazing picnic! Loads of foods, everything tasted amazing. Attentive staff, comfortable setup with blankets and back-rest chairs, but there's also tables available. Lots and lots of large shaded areas, so no one has to sit in the sun. Parking does get full quite quickly, best to go earlier.

Great place to take kids. Kids can ride a bike and play on the jungle gyms. Quick service and food was good/reasonably priced. The deli was interesting and had lots to buy from coffees, wines, pastries and bascottis . There's another home deco shop that sells cutlery and crockery, winter wear (hunter boots) etc a great day out with the family . 1 hour away from cape town.. recommended
