Heliopsis helianthoides Overview
This species is a North American perennial. It is rather hardy and loves the sun. The flowers are semi-double or double yellow blooms, and they will open in profusion in midsummer and will bloom right into the autumn. Great at the back of the border or at the centre of an island bed, this member of the sunflower family makes an excellent cut flower or may be used in dried arrangements. This perennial looks particularly good companion planted with pink or red daylilies. Ox-eye does well in dry soils. Some recommended cultivars are 'Light of Loddon', Golden Plume' and 'Goldspritz' and 'Karat'.
