Odontoglossum Overview

A genus comprising almost 100 species of orchids in the Orchidaceae family native to Central America with a centre of diversity at the northern end of the Andes. They are found at high elevations in cloud forest habitats where most - but not all - are epiphytes. The genus is extensively cultivated and in addition to the numerous natural hybrids, there are many intergeneric hybrids available, bred for a variety of flamboyant flower colours, patterns and forms.
