Weigela 'Florida Variegata' Overview

Weigela 'Florida Variegata' is a deciduous shrub cultivar from the Caprifoliaceae family. Grown for the abundant blooms and attractive variegated leaves. This plant has a compact habit and grows to a maximum size of around 2.5m. Leaves are oval in shape, coloured green, with creamy-white edging. Flowers are arranged in clusters, they are funnel-shaped and coloured light pink. It grows best in full sun, but will cope with partial and full shade, with reduced flowering. Plant in moist, well-draining soil. Weigela florida ‘Variegata' is a particularly popular cultivar with attractive variegated white and green leaves. This cultivar has earnt a Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Award of Garden Merit. It is also part of the RHS “Plants for Pollinators” initiative to showcase plants which support pollinator populations by providing ample amounts of nectar and/ or pollen.
