American Witch Hazel Overview

This species is a large shrub or small tree, growing to a maximum height of 8m and a maximum width of 4m. Foliage is rounded to ovate and develops from light green to a darker green shade over time, also displays gold-yellow autumn colour. Scented yellow flowers with long, twisted petals are produced from mid-autumn. This species was traditionally used to creat medicinal witch-hazel.
