White-Leaved Rock Rose Overview
Cistus albidus is a compact, bushy evergreen shrub that produces bright pink flowers. It originates from Southwestern Europe and the western region of North Africa. This species typically grows to around 1m high, producing pale green-grey, white-felted foliage. Flowers have 5 papery, spreading petals coloured a soft rose-lilac colour, with bright golden-yellow stamens in the centre. This plant and Cistus crispus were used to create the hybrid Cistus × incanus.
