Dwarf Birch Overview
This shrub species is also known as the dwarf birch and it is found in the tundra of the Arctic. Grows to just over a metre tall, with coppery-red coloured bark and rounded foliage edged with blunt teeth. Displays attractive colouring, with the leaves turning red in autumn. Non-showy yellow-green, male flowers and red-green, female flowers are produced separately on the same plant, both arranged in catkin structures and these are wind pollinated.
