Hart's Tonque Fern Overview
Asplenium scolopendrium is a rosette-forming, evergreen fern. It has upright to arching, strap-shaped and leathery, bright green fronds with wavy margins. Commonly known as Hart's Tongue Fern produces spores on the underside of the fonds. They are interestingly arranged on the bottom, in pattern-like, parallel strips across the leaf surface. They are quite distinctive and are coloured red-brown, which contrasts attractively against the green fronds. This plant has earnt a Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit.
