Apple 'Baigent' Overview
Apple trees are deciduous and require long cold winters. For best results ask a local nursery for advice on optimal choices in terms of rootstock, varieties and cross pollinators. Baigent has a bright red skin. A new variety of apple originating as a limb mutation of Royal Gala. The variety was chosen for the unique combination of characteristic exhibited by the fruit. They are distinguished by particularly early red coloring throughout the tree, and have a distinctive appearance of predominantly bright red color and flecks of ground color overlain by a bold darker red stripe pattern that extends over the entire fruit.

Cuttings
Graft a desired cultivar during dormant stage(winter) unto a rootstock. Seedlings make good rootstock too!
Seed
Seed need about 3 months cold stratification, but seldom grow into desirable fruit. They tend to revert back to small wild fruit, therefore usually known cultivars are grafted or budded.
