Toad Lily Overview
The genus Tricyrtis, also termed toad lilies, contains 23 hardy, rhizomatous, herbaceous perennials with hairy stems. They produce dramatic, star-shaped inflorescences, heavily patterned with speckled markings. Foliage is frequently glossy and veined. They originate from Eastern Asia to the Himalayas and species may be found in China, Japan, the Philippines and Taiwan, with some species cultivated in other locations for their ornamental value.
