Coralberry Overview
Aechmea fulgens is a perennial species in the Bromeliaceae family. It originates from Brazil and is grown as an ornamental plant, commonly known by the name Coralberry. Showy flowers are purple in colour, surrounded by bright red-orange modified leaves known as bracts. They lead onto shiny red berry fruits. Leaves grow to around 30cm long, coloured green on the upper surface and grey on the underside. Leaves have a wax-like coating on the undersides.
