Ornamental Kiwi Overview
Actinidia kolomikta is a vigorous twining climber, grown for its attractive deciduous foliage. It produces ovate leaves with silver/white at the tips, which later turn to pink. (The more sun, the brighter the pink colouring.) Its small white flowers are produced in late spring, but often hidden by the foliage. (Male and female flowers are produced on individual plants.) Known by several other common names, the hardy Manchurian Gooseberry likes a sheltered position in full sun and fertile, moist to well-drained soil. Trained against a south-facing wall or trellis, it will thrive - and add a stunning feature to your garden. Actinidia kolomikta has earned an 'RHS Award of Garden of Merit'.
