Bird's Nest Anthurium Overview
Anthurium hookeri is a gorgeous plant with lush green leaves. It needs to stay relatively moist, but allow it to dry out a little before watering. It likes bright, indirect sun. In its natural environment, it's fighting through the tropical canopy for light. Bird's Nest Anthurium is an evergreen perennial foliage plant with a tropical feel. This species grows without the need for soil substrate and is thus termed epiphytic. It produces un-showy inflorescences which hang pendently. They are surrounded by green spathes tinged purple and their spadix is purple-blue in colour, leading onto oval to oblong, white berries. This genus is commonly grown outdoors in tropical gardens and they are prized across the world as houseplants or tender patio plants in temperate climates. With slight care and attention, you can enjoy a touch of the tropics all year round in your home.
