Heptacodium Overview
A monotypic genus of deciduous shrubs in the Caprifoliaceae family endemic to China where it is found in wooded, mountainous habitats. The single species, H. miconioides, commonly known as seven son flower tree, is now widely grown as a garden ornamental for its attractive deeply-veined leaves and small, fragrant white flowers with colourful bracts in shades of pink that persist after the petals have fallen.
