Phalaris Overview
A genus of grasses with a wide distribution, found on every continent except Antarctica and in diverse habitats ranging from marshy to arid, they are annual or rhizomatous perennial plants. They have clumps of broadly linear leaves and spikelets of small green flowers. They spread quickly so are useful in cultivation where rapid ground cover is needed over a large area, but they can become invasive especially in wetland areas.
How to propagate Phalaris
Seed
Seed in spring or autumn.
Division
By division in autumn; however forms should be propagated by division only.
